Sometimes it’s the simple things that can catch you out. How many of us have ever thought about the tags that we attach to our luggage when we travel – whether we’re traveling for pleasure or on business? But your tags could be telling someone your name, job title, where you work … Or, if you include your home address, they could simply arrange to have someone burgle your house while you’re away.
The Seattle Times just published an excellent short piece on why you should be worried, and what to do about it.
Why do I mention it here? Because it’s the type of information that I think should be included in every security awareness training program. Present people with information that’s relevant to them – whether in their home life or at work – and they’ll start thinking more about security in all aspects of their life.
